Thanks to Vistana Hotel Penang for inviting me to the preview of the buffet which will be available to the public from 29th May 2017 till 24th June 2017.

To start off, jeruk (pickled fruits) and fresh fruits are vibrantly arranged for diners to choose.

A healthy selection of ulam-ulaman (fresh herbs) and kerabu (tangy traditional Malay salads) such as Kerabu Manga (Mango Salad), Kerabu Sotong (Squids Salad), Kerabu Kaki Ayam (Chicken Feet Salad) etc. are prepared to get the appetite going.

As for the main courses spreads which are good to go with a plate of warm steamed rice, they features ayam goreng berempah, ikan cencaru belah belakang, daging rendang tok, siput belitung masak lemak cili padi, gulai daging, rendang itik and pucuk ubi masak lemak.

Not forgetting the iconic dishes of Penang, local favourites such as Asam Laksa, Murtabak, Rojak and Pasembur are also available.

Hearty Sup Daging
 Chicken Rice

Self-cooked cockles stall allows visitors to boil their cockles and dip them in sauces.

My personal must-eat servings at any Ramadhan Buffet are definitely their Ketupat and Lemang with Serunding Ayam or Serunding Daging.
At the Bakar-Bakar cooked to order station, freshly grilled lamb and Satay are available with condiments.

Sauces to go with the lamb, in my opinion, the yoghurt mint sauce complimented the lamb best!

For those who prefers an icy local treat at the end of your meal, ice kacang is available at the dessert counter.

For desserts, the selections will definitely spoil one for choice with an array of traditional Malay kuih-muih which some are savoury while others are sweet treats.

For those who have a thing for pudding, you have four types to choose from.  It's hard for me to choose a favourite out of them since all are equally good with optimal sweetness.
Choices of bubur (sweet dessert) such as Pengat Pisang, Bubur Pulut Hitam and Bubur Gandum are also available in their buffet array.
