Obsessions & My 24/7 Checked In Social Sites

TGIF!   My happy-go-lucky days or I should say rusting period is coming to an end.  Yay!  So looking forward to step back to the life I'm suppose to live, hope it'll be awesome :)  At the moment I'm kinda exited to hangout with the best bunch tomorrow after ter-ppked them and causing some reschedules :P   Really ps for being a..........................................V
"Troublemaker "

woots!  Checked my blog archive and noticed that I've just posted four entries including this one, what have I done round the clock for my entire holidays??   Neh!  I didn't waste my time doing nothing because I was really really really... busy keeping up with my OBSESSIONS! :P  Reasons for mia-ing, I don't play Resident Evil or whatsoever but lol:

! CANDY CRUSH!!!

not only playing this using my smartphone whenever the TV shows are on interval, in the car, elevator... but still can't get enough crushing candies, thus playing it on Facebook as well!  So if you are playing this game, I have an order to give or a humble request which is PLEASE SEND ME LIFE!!!

@Tetris Battle
Apparently, I've lost interest in this one because every time I played this I got interrupted and also let others KO me >< or maybe CANDY CRUSH has manage to overrun this??   Whatever...as this is one of my favourite childhood game I'm sure my interest towards it will reignite one fine day...

#Scrabble
After Monopoly aka 百/亿万富翁, scrabble is another fav. board game of mine.  Playing this all time favourite on Facebook is also much more easier as I don't have to do any calculations :P  but then sometimes it's pretty difficult to get an opponent which is at the equivalent level of mine :(  intermediate ><  and mostly random opponents are kinda expert!

$NuffnangX
One of the best site to read blogs and connect with bloggers!  Mobile app is also available for this social stalking site but I still prefer to view it on the laptop screen rather than on my smartphone.  Besides composing blog entries, reading blogs is my latest discovered entertainment to past time as well as gaining some knowledge of various fields!  :)

%YouTube
Besides watching MVs, I specially love watching YouTubers like:
1. MichellePhan!  The well known millionaire beauty guru!    Besides viewing her videos, I love checking out her blog as well :)  Actually I did learned a lot of useful skills from her videos!  My Mani Monday post on how to "DIY Macoroon Inspired Matte Nails Using Steam" was patially inspired by her ;)
2. Jen fromheadtotoe is another beauty guru who focus more on everyday makeup looks who also owns a blog
3. sweetandtasty A station where you could learn about Korean cultures and traditions, basic Korean words etc. regarding Korea
3. Comedy channels like JinnyboyTV, wahbanana...
5. Tosh Rock aka ABTM's Seargeant Ong
6. Off the Great Wall
7. Chriselle Lim ~ stylist and fashion blogger at the same time.  Really love her styling tips which are mostly build up from basic pieces/fabrics!
Singapore channel ^clicknetworktv  XiaXue's Guide to Life
                                                         BongQiuQiu's Budget Barbie
                                                         ShuAn's Tried & Tested
                                                         That F Word
& many...more channels which are impossible for me to list out all but those above are my favourite ones which I could watch them from dawn till midnight :P exaggerating*

*TV
Believe or not?  I spent practically half a day watching tv, I mean solely watching our local channels without Astro.  The minute I'm wide awake when the sun rises I'll kick start my day by watching The Breakfast Show > various cartoons :P (till now I still love watching cartoons, shameful* but who cares?  as long as I enjoy ^^ doing so)  > Bella which are all programs on NTV7 ~ sincere supporter of the feel good channel... ;) Then allow the tv to have a break till evening while I spare my time with my laptop and continue with dramas from 5pm - 8pm or ps..mostly from 4pm to watch Feng Shu's cooking program lol!   Just wondering how much time you guys spend on watching tv programs within a day when you have holidays?

Those above are my how I spent my time without getting bored or not ranting about how life is such a boredom. ><  It's pretty easy to eliminate the core word 'bore' from you life because as long as there's something to be busy with eliminating it is just fingertips.  In my case, I tend to keep myself occupy round the clock not only doing those but then reading magazines, hangout, cooking, organizing, chatting on the phone ("bou tin wa zok" < canto.) with my gfs...etc. just trying not to let myself sitting and doing nothing which is super duper meaningless!

Oh before I conclude this post, here are some of my social sites which I'm active on:

Facebook is definitely topping the list!

By now I bet majority of the netizen already have at least a Facebook account other than just an email right?  So as I ^_^    no offence* I knew that there are some famous people who owns several accounts but one account is definitely more than enough for me no matter what because I'm not a celebrity or whatsoever and also not that free to manage another same account from the same social networking platform.   hehe...Don't you guys love the cover picture on my profile?  camera in action* I think we were as steady as models on set! plus haha...I did the editing work of that picture so lol! extra loving it! :P  fyi, my FB account is syncing with some other applications as well, for instance Instagram(the #hashtags spam site) and Network Blogs(direct posting of my blog updates).   One more thing is ps har!  I don't simply approve any friend request not being lansi(proud) or what but I just prefer to keep some things P&C.  Even though I might not accept your friend request but I enable anyone to subscribe/follow me which is consider more than enough for an non famous human as of now as you will be able to see what I permit you to do so.  Apologizing in advance if I've offended you in any means.

Most of the time picture speaks a thousand words, so yeah I'm also on the #hashtag spamming site aka Instagram.  If you have an account on this site, kindly follow @rachael_imm  to see what I eat...and some shameless selcas.

Lately I've also started using Twitter :)  I know I'm very outdated but then since last time not many of my friends using it so wth should I be there for besides stalking celebrities updates occasionally?  plus I was a little confused about the features... but now different story!  After updating myself a bit, I find it quite convenient to use.  So, if you have this blue bird thingy, appreciate if could contribute to my absolutely pathetic followers list by clicking the follow button here or via the badge on the footer of my blog which is an easier option.

@rachaelimm

That sums up what I wanted to say before I go mia a bit...  Last but not least, Rachael.shiningGEMINI@gmail.com
is my official email, for any enquiries just feel free to contact me there and I shall respond to it asap.

lol!  Signing off with a self written poem.  Strictly no imitation!

Mani Monday ~ DIY Macoroon Inspired Matte Nails Using Steam

Listen to this classical tune to get the feel while you read this post.  Hopefully you'll feel what I've felt.
Instead of having those boo...boo...monday blues why not opting to have a colourful Monday?  ;)  Fyi,  this DIY nail tutorial is going to be filled with colours of the season which is spring.  I bet you will be tempted to grab those pretty little things after looking at it but lol you can't. :P ignore my childishness*  Generally, I was inspired by one of my favourite dessert aka MACAROONS!!!   Hey!  I really don't mind if this dainty pieces were used to replace those traditional cakes in any of my future special occasions you know???  ps. I think I've gone out of topic, so I better skip those unnecessary concoction description of mine.

#optional but highly suggested step before you start painting your nails

For this time, I've massage this gel-type treatment from Etude House before I started coating my nails with those coloured polishes to replenish the nutrients of my slightly damaged nails.  Picture to proof that this product is working out impressively:
After application: - shinier nails                                                      Before application: - dry nails T.T
                             - softer cuticles                                                                                   - slightly powdery
                             - not so yellowish (after a few applications lar!)                                   cuticles
                                                                                                                                       - yellowish like
                                                                                                                                     smokers' fingernails
                                                                                                                                     (I'm not OK!)
This nail treatment product works similarly like those cuticle oil even though it's slightly more economical.  So, choice is yours whether you want to use it or not.

#1 Have five different nail colours in hand

my collection of nail polishes from
SASA, Etude House & The Face Shop
Then start off with your nicely trimmed and squeaky clean nails with your desire colour!  Each colour for each nails.  I've chosen some spring colours which were bright yellow, sky blue, purple, beige and hot pink for this tutorial.  You may opt for other colours as well, EMERALD is one of the best option you could go for as it's definitely an in style colour for this year! (not I say but the experts said so)

#2 Boil water to create matte finish

After you are done with the first layer. Allow it to dry for a while and then apply the second layer to ensure that the colours will appear more pigmented and could last longer.  Leave it to dry again and then apply your trusty top coat.   I'm using my current liking top coat (Skinfood's Nail Vita) which I've also featured in my previous Mani Monday post  Before the top coat dry out, quickly move your hand towards the simmering water to catch the steam in order to get the matte finish for your coloured nails without the need of using a matte top coat.

***Remember to turn down the heat after it boiled to its minimal heat or else you are going to cook your hand which I never thought you to!  lol!

Skincare products restocked!

This post will probably be overrun by all those beauty grabs I've got to restock my used up ones.   Went to QB mall last weekend with my mum.  Instead of a family day it was just a mummy and daughter dating day due to my dad will never like to follow me to shop after kekezz...I've probably caused him nightmares.  Not only him but I think if I really want to shop for a particular item, the person who is together with me might bore to death due to...not telling*  If you are really that curious, maybe you should accompany me to shop next time?  JK :P

Stopped by for lunch at Azuma Japanese Restaurant.  Normally whenever mum craves for sushi we will head to Sushi King or sometimes Sakae but since she allowed me to make the choice I'll definitely grab my opportunity to try out something new. ;)  It seems I've discovered another nice place for sushi!  Those two dishes below are highly recommended for you guys if you gonna have your meal there.

Salmon
I think till now Salmon is a must dish for me to order whenever I'm at a Japanese restaurant!  Mouth watering when I think of the taste of this plate of creamy yet full of somewhat fish oil taste. #fml 11.40pm stomach churning*
Clams Miso Soup < idk if that's the name of it or not but no worries, picture is in the menu
Actually we were not really hungry at that time so we only had four plates of sushi plus a bowl of soup which summed up our lunch for that day.  Btw, after having our meal there, mummy said : 'we will be coming back here again' ^^

going off to bed first, to be continued...

~ Help My Finger Nail Treatment

                ~  Free SAMPLES ;)
#Watson ~ Thursday Plantation Blemish Gel
#Daiso ~ Oil Blotters
            ~ Eyelid Glue
#Nature Republic ~ Blackhead Break

If you want me to make a review about any of the above products, just feel free to drop me a comment below!:)

Even though I've already went on a somewhat skincare shopping spree but then I still haven't completely restock all my used up products until my parcel from Hermo.my arrived yesterday! :)  I'm pretty sure that most of you who fancy online shopping already knew about this beauty store so I'm slightly outdated to  only find out about it this year.  This time I've opted to shop with them is because they allow us to choose 10 of our desire masks from a variety of brands to make up a Mask Combination Box.  So I've got myself a box for a very awesome approximately 50% mark down deal! ^_^  $ saved!

Let's see what I've got for RM 32.60 (masks only):

My Scheming Herbal Anti-Acne Mask

Functions : balance oil secretion, relieve skin problems, reduce inflammation & pores
Price : RM 3.30 per sheet
Rating : 8/10

I've bought it from Watson several times but then still not at such a great deal as Hermo provide even tough it was on sale over there.  Personally, I like the scent and the size of the mask which fitted my face quite well and the price is also fairly reasonable.  What I like most about this mask is after 20-30 minutes you can just pat and just leave those mask extract to absorb into your skin without the need of washing it away which make you do double work.  Overall it did its job as stated on the packaging well but to be frank it can only help those micro size zits so don't expect too much from it to eliminate your pimple after once cause it definitely won't work that way.
Instant effects : balance oil secretion, whitening, pore tightening & reduce redness

Among all those I've in my mask combination box, this is the only one I've used before so I'll just skip reviewing about the others. :P

Last but not least, it's the Natural Republic Tea Tree Blemish Zero Powder Toner.

Direction : Cleanse face > shake the bottle > dap appropriate amount of toner onto the facial cotton > gently blot onto your face

I bet majority of you have listed toner as a must skincare product in your routine, so as I!  Ever since I started using toner, I will definitely use it after I've cleansed my face to make sure I can have that squeaky clean breathable skin but according to dermatologists toner is an unnecessary step.  In my opinion toner is still an essential routine especially if you have applied makeup(foundation, BB cream, powder etc.) or has an oily skin combination because toner has the capability to remove your leftover impurities or residues from what your cleanser or even exfoliator has left out.  Moreover it could help to tighten up your open pores.  Honestly, I think I could still reluctantly survive in vain without pimple cream (I did for approx. 2 weeks ><) but  toner? NO WAY!  Perhaps you may doubt my review since I'm not a professional, I suggest you to read this article here to gain some extra knowledge from the expert in the field of the following polemical statement.

An Affair with Mother Nature @ Pantai Kerachut

It has been ages since I last hiked or went on a jungle trekking till last weekend, specifically it was on Sunday (24th March).  Headed to our destination aka Pantai Kerachut after having our breakfast.  It is a natural attraction of "Pearl of the Orient" which was established as Penang National Park since year 2003.

Now, allow the pictures to be the main storyteller:

Selca-ed with my beloved mummy and the surroundings while waiting for the others to arrive.  Btw, I specially adore the simple wooden crafted furniture under the shade looking towards the sea.  Really don't mind if I'm given a chance to sit there all day long just to enjoy the sea breeze accompany by the sound of the swooshing waves which is seriously a gifted nature's melody....

After walking on the track for a few meters, you will reach this spot if I'm not mistaken.  Navigation board to your desire destination.  At this juncture I personally could relate it to what's happening in reality.  Do you?  Choices to be made, pathways towards your goals which is always the pre-determinant of how you want to live your life, sometimes there's no right or wrong answer but just how you opt to(ps. for the blabbering)

So our destination is Pantai Kerachut not the destination which is more for hardcore hikers aka Rumah Api Muka Head (light house).  Actually I have not seen the pathway towards there but then I've heard from my mum who has viewed some bloggers post saying that it is pretty tough route to get there.

hiak*hiak* purposely hiked a few steps ahead so that I can snap some pictures from of the others from the top view :P  Despite there's proper steps, hiking up do requires more stamina thus it's definitely more challenging than going down.(exactly like how we struggle to reach our goals which is easier to topple rather than achieving if you could relate)

Completed our hiking path around afternoon and just relaxed at the beach before going back.  Immediately went to change into shorts and of course flip flops instead of my long pants and sport shoes since I was at the beach.  Even though the sun was blazing hot at that time, it didn't stop me to go for a stroll along and around the beach area to explore, sometimes prefer to stay indoor humans like me should really head out to get some Vitamin D.  Guess what?   I've found some scenic views and not to mention one of my favourite shell seafood wear spotted around the meromictic lake.

'Balitong'! (shell seafood)
After struggling to walk on the sand bed which was an extremely heated and uneven ground, went back to our shedding place and took a nap on the beach.  Apparently, I can also sleep on the sandy beach not just laying but zzzZZ :P   Waiting for our boat ride back to get back to the main entrance during the late afternoon at the jetty.  The boat man charged us RM 10 per person for a one way ride.

#throwback
Bet you guys have instagram, if yes kindly add me there!  ;)
I'm rachael_imm

Personally, I think RM 10 per head for the boat ride is consider reasonable as the boat man did made an effort to tell some jokes plus stopping by to show us those unique shape rocks there.

Turtle shape rock
He told us to keep calm and quiet when he stopped by this crocodile shape rock.  At a moment I thought there were crocodiles nearby our boat then I was like do crocodiles live in an open sea??   idiotic*  So bravo to the boat man for the suspense before the introduction!  Hiking was the main activity but then the boat ride was what I enjoyed the most on that day!  ^_^  super like the bouncy speed...weee...but then my mum was kinda having seasick..poor mother ><  but your daughter really enjoyed this sort of roller coaster ride in the sea.

Crocodile shape rock

Was kinda exhausted on that day but then that was definitely a fun trip!  Additional fact, previously I've been to hike in a few places like:
1.  Bukit Jambu (kinda season place during my younger days with my parents)
2.  Bukit Mertajam (during school's camp in year 2011)
3.  Pulau Jerejak (day care outing in year 2005 if I'm not mistaken)
4.  Penang Hill (day care outing...couldn't remember the exact date but then it was during my primary school days)
5.  Tropica Spice Garden (day care outing as well)

Honestly if you want to compare, I can tell you that Pantai Kerachut is probably the easiest track I've ever encounter asa Pulau Jerejak's track was the toughest among all!

Will update some group photos later on since I don't have any yet now...Chao for now!
